Day 16 Morro Bay, CA - Petaluma, CA 283 miles

Left Morro Bay at 6:50am and headed up the Pacific Coast Highway.  It was 55*. Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
We see some awesome coastal scenery, elephant seals, rolling hills mountains, Mission Ranch (a resort owned by Clint Eastwood), San Francisco, and crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, and we are staying at the Best Western in Petaluma.
We had a great day and may be out of California tomorrow. That's what we are going to shoot for. We will see how it goes and let you all know tomorrow night.

Later,
Al & Susie

  2. Larry,
They say the Bay area is supposed to be 50 over night. I kept telling Susie today "Welcome to Sunny California". She would tell me "Shut up, they lie." LOL!!!

  3. Looks like an interesting day! You wouldn't need to have your warm clothes here...very humid day today. Lake is great, got a few fish! Talk with you later, ~Suzann~

  4. We never rode over the Golden Gate Bridge - tried to a few times but each time something said 'not right now' - looking at your pictures of it, it doesn't look like a bridge but just another highway...

Great pictures but hope it isn't colder for you the further north you go - enjoy the scenery, have fun and be safe...

  5. Hi Suzann,
Yup it is strange having such cool weather after riding in temps over 100 for days.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your vacation.

  6. Peggy cubbear,
I was surprised with the Golden Gate Bridge. It was as high or as long as I thought it would be and there wasn't any toll either.

  7. So was it scary to ride over the bridge on a motorcycle? Glad that you are having a good time. All is well here. Becky

  8. Becky,
Nope not scary at all. It didn't even seem any different than the other roads. It was exciting to be going over a bridge you had heard about all your life though. :)
Thanks and glad all is well there.
