We left Salem this morning at 7:10 with the temperature at 52*. We headed on I-5 North to Tacoma (Fife) to get the Harley serviced.
On the way at 8 AM we hit Portland, OR the traffic was terrible and the scenery was awesome. Then we crossed the Columbia River and into the State of Washington. In Tacoma we got the Harley serviced and visited with some of the customers and employees. When we told them where we were from they pretty much all said the same thing "New York!!!!!!! What are you doing way out here?????" We also had lunch at the little cafe they have in the dealership. That was kind of neat.
Then we headed for Seattle to pick up I-90 East. Seattle is a busy and BIG place. We found I-90 and headed East through the Cascade Mountains and on ourway East toward home. It really doesn't seem like we have been on the road for 19 days. I am glad Susie to a lot of pictures.
Now we are in a little town called Cle Elum (pronounce clee ELL-um), Washington. We stopped for gas and coffee and were going to ride for another hour or so and see a Best Western across the street. We talked it over and since it seemed to be a nice little town we decided to spend the night here. It is a REALLY nice motel and hopefully a quiet one. Acually the one in Salem last night was real quiet, especially for the size of it and the amount of people staying there.
That is all for now,
Susie and Albert
YES this is a truck load of chickens. :) |
This is for Andy. :) |
Hi Susie and Al - great pictures and sure looks like you are trying to keep warm - ahhh, yes, behind, alongside or near the large vehicle carrying some farm animals - like the chickens... Maybe it was cold enough so you didn't get a 'wiff' of them... Have fun, enjoy and be safe...

what a fun trip. Now you're near where my son lives. He is near the university in a nice apartment with a great view of downtown Seattle.
ReplyDeleteSomeday, I hope my hubby and I will do a trip like this. So fun to follow the blog! Thanks for sharing the pictures! Susie's quite good at taking pictures from the bike!
Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteYup a fun trip. :)

Glad you are following,
Thanks,

Peggy cubbear,
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Just some feathers flying and wondered what it was. When we pulled up beside it we knew it was feathers.
Didn't the chickens smell? We went by a hog truck once that was very stinky. Travel safe, Becky
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDelete:) Nope I didn't smell anything. Just feathers flying around. :)
Thanks,
Susie
